Weather Check
One of the main reasons things can go wrong on the first flight is the tendency of rushing the plane into the air, this is mainly due to the fact that you’re excited and can’t wait to get started!
But, is it to windy?
As a general rule I tend not to fly in any winds over 10mph, this doesn’t seem like much but think about the scale of the aircraft your are flying and how light it is, its going to get thrown around a fair bit in strong winds.
Now a steady wind of say 6mph is easy to fly in but a gusty breeze blowing up to 8mph can be tricky too, as you come in to land or make turns up and down wind the gusts are going to effect the way the planes moves through the air. This can be tricky to get to grips with on your first time up.
First timers should try to get as close as possible to zero wind speed if they can and as you build up confidence you will learn to deal with breeze’s.
